We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to the D-Day sites out of Le Havre. This tour covered the major D-Day sites, with plenty of time to linger and absorb the enormity of the event. Being a student of history, I appreciated the interactive and conversational style brought by our guid, Bertrand. He was very knowledgeable about both the “book facts” of D-Day, and also the impact it had on French culture and society - something of which I was very curious. We came away with a deeper appreciation of the sacrifices made by both soldiers and civilians alike.

First, we were very grateful to find a guide who would drive us nearly 3 hours round trip (from our cruise port in Le Havre to Omaha Beach area) on a cold, rainy, windy December day. Bertrand, our guide, was very kind, accommodating of our various requests, and knowledgeable. He made the sites come alive, as if the events that saved the world that June day in 1944 were happening before our eyes. Among the sites we visited were Point du Hoc, Omaha beach, and the American soldiers’ cemetery. Bertrand clearly reveres the sacrifices made by the Allies to spill their blood to save Europe from facism. I can’t imagine anyone making this experience more fascinating, emotional and memorable. Merci mon Ami, Bertrand. A bientot!

The tour guide Bertrand was excellent. His passion and compassion was evident. He went out of his way to provide us with detailed photos and stories about Juno beach as we are Canadians

This was the best excursion I have ever taken. Our guide, Bertrand, made it informative and gave us all a connection of what it was like in Normandy. This fulfilled a lifelong dream to visit Omaha Beach, the surrounding areas, and cemeteries as my father landed there as part of The Big Red 1 in the field artillary division. What my father experienced lived with him for the rest of his life and our guide, Bertrand, helped me see this through a new set of eyes. He showed me where my father was when he earned his first medal for bravery. Thank you for designing and taking us on this journey.

Our guide, BERTRAND, was very knowledgeable. Not only did he give us the history of the landings but he also related stories of individual soldiers. He was so passionate and emotional regarding what happened during the beach landings. I thought I knew history but during the tour, I realized what I knew was NOTHING. I DEFINITELY recommend this tour and most DEFINITELY have BERTRAND for a guide. VERY WELL WORTH IT!!!!

We loved our tour to the D-Day Landing Beaches! Our tour guide was exceptional, sharing great stories with emotion, giving us a clear picture of what happened. We came away feeling so grateful for those who served. The lunch was a bonus and so yummy. We sat and ate at the Omaha Beach shoreline and contemplated what the price of freedom was at this location. Would highly recommend this tour!

Bertrand was a wonderful guide. He was very friendly and had a vast knowledge of the history of the beaches and cemetery. He arranged our schedule so that we were able to see the flag lowering at the American cemetery and Omaha beach at low tide. He was also flexible so that we could do some things on our own when we wanted.

We completely enjoyed our experience on this tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, so friendly and open to answer any questions. We learned so much about what took place on D-Day, and walking through the American cemetery was an experience we will never forget. I encourage everyone to take this tour. It was truly amazing.

Learned so much from the guide; he was literally a walking encyclopedia! I would only suggest having a bit more time to eat, as we wanted to look a bit in the small shops at the first stop to find some WW 2 antiques.. Absolutely a great trip! Guide was very kind and made sure we were comfortable.
